Adding Categories

Who can add Categories? Leaders on the Project

Categories are project specific and are reflected in several parts of the system: Files (as folders), News and Discussions.  Some Categories are pre-populated, driven by the project type that was selected when the project was created.

If a Category is added it is automatically made available to these areas (Files as folders, News and Discussions).

Create a Category:

  1. Open the Project
  2. Select the "Settings" tab on the far right.  If you do not have this option you are not a Leader on the project.
  3. Select the "Categories" sub tab
  4. "Add Top-level Category" option is at the top of the pane
  5. To Add a sub-category select the "+" on the right and enter the sub-category title


  • You can add additional levels with a maximum of three levels deep.
  • There is no limit to the number of categories within a layer.
